Terms of Service

Last updated: March 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CourtSide (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Account Registration

To submit reviews or access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Not create multiple accounts for the same person

Player accounts require an invite code from an existing player or a CourtSide team invite link.

3. Reviews & Content

When submitting reviews (“Scouting Reports”), you agree to:

  • Write honest, factual reviews based on your personal experience
  • Not include defamatory, threatening, or discriminatory content
  • Not identify yourself or other players by full name in reviews
  • Not submit fake reviews or reviews for clubs you have not played for
  • Accept that reviews may be moderated and removed if they violate guidelines

By submitting content, you grant CourtSide a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use the content in connection with the Platform.

4. Salary Data

Salary information is treated with special care:

  • Individual salary reports are never displayed publicly
  • Only aggregated, anonymized benchmarks are shown (minimum 5 reports per group)
  • Salary data is stored separately from identifying information
  • You may delete your salary data at any time via your dashboard

5. Premium Subscriptions

Certain features require a paid subscription (“Premium”). By subscribing:

  • You authorize recurring charges according to your selected billing cycle
  • You may cancel at any time — access continues until the current period ends
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase (EU consumer rights)
  • Prices may change with 30 days' advance notice

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Upon deletion:

  • Your profile and personal data will be permanently removed
  • Published reviews will be anonymized (author removed) but may remain visible
  • Active premium subscriptions will be cancelled without refund for the current period

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or our community guidelines.

7. Limitation of Liability

CourtSide is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for:

  • Decisions made based on reviews or salary data on the Platform
  • Accuracy of user-submitted content
  • Temporary unavailability of the Platform
  • Loss of data beyond what is required by applicable law

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

8. Content moderation, notices & appeals

Anyone may submit a formal notice about potentially unlawful or policy-violating content via our public form at /report — including without an account. Operational notices for rights-holders and escalations should use report@courtside.berlin (see Impressum).

Service levels (Beta)

  • Initial triage: we aim to acknowledge intake within 72 hours and assign the case a reference id (subject to volume and holidays).
  • Statement opportunity: when a review is affected and facts are disputed, we may invite the author to respond within up to 7 calendar days before a removal or anonymization decision where appropriate.
  • Decision: we aim for a substantiated decision within roughly 14 days after intake for standard cases; complex matters may take longer.

Where we remove content or apply other significant moderation measures to user content, affected authors receive a statement of reasons describing the factual and legal basis at a high level (EU Digital Services Act orientation).

Internal appeal: after a final moderation decision, parties may submit a structured counter-notice (appeal) using the secure link provided in the decision email. Appeals reopen human review; repeated abuse of the process may limit eligibility.

Nothing in this section limits mandatory consumer or statutory rights that apply to you.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
